Legacy Primary School was established by DivineAid Uganda in 2018 with a singular mission: to provide quality, affordable education to children in Lira City and the surrounding communities of Northern Uganda.
The school offers a safe, nurturing environment with trained teachers, a structured national curriculum, full scholastic materials, and a daily feeding programme — ensuring that no child is excluded from quality learning because of financial hardship.
With over 320 pupils enrolled and growing, Legacy Primary School is a beacon of hope for families across Lira City who believe their children deserve the very best start in life.
All our teachers are trained and registered with the Uganda National Teachers College network, with continuous professional development each term.
We provide a hot midday meal to all enrolled pupils daily, ensuring children are nourished and able to concentrate throughout the school day.
No child is excluded due to financial hardship. DivineAid subsidises school fees for the most vulnerable families through our bursary programme.
Parents, local leaders and community members actively participate in school governance through the School Management Committee
Legacy pupils consistently perform above the district average in Primary Leaving Examinations, with 80% progressing to secondary school.
Every pupil receives full scholastic materials — exercise books, pens, rulers and textbooks — provided by DivineAid at no extra cost to families.
Our Early Childhood Development programme builds a strong foundation through play-based learning, basic literacy, numeracy, and social skills in a caring environment.
Children in lower primary develop core reading, writing and arithmetic skills through structured lessons and interactive activities aligned to the Uganda National Curriculum.
Our upper primary programme prepares learners for the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) through rigorous academic instruction, critical thinking and career readiness activities.
Beyond the classroom, Legacy pupils participate in football, netball, choir, drama, scouting and gardening — developing teamwork, creativity and leadership.
We welcome new pupils each term for all classes from Nursery to Primary 7. Visit us at the school or contact us through DivineAid Uganda to begin the enrolment process.
