Once completed, the initiative will provide reliable, clean drinking water to thousands of residents across underserved sub-counties where community members\u2014predominantly women and children\u2014currently travel long distances to fetch water from unprotected and contaminated sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Focus on Sustainability and Community Ownership<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike traditional aid models, DivineAid\u2019s 2025 initiative is built on a foundation of <strong>Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM)<\/strong> and long-term sustainability. The project will not simply install hardware; it will empower local residents to become stewards of their own resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key components of the initiative include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Water Source Committees:<\/strong> Each of the 39 new wells will be managed by a locally elected committee, trained by DivineAid in basic maintenance, financial management, and sanitation protocols.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Engagement:<\/strong> By working directly with local leaders and residents during the planning and construction phases, the project ensures high levels of community ownership and accountability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Health and Hygiene Integration:<\/strong> The construction phase will be accompanied by hygiene promotion and the formation of Community Health Clubs to maximize the health benefits of the new clean water sources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Restoring Hope in Northern Uganda<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This expansion into Dokolo is a core part of our mission to keep \u2018Community Hope Alive\u2019,&#8221; said a DivineAid representative. &#8220;By securing water access for the next three years and beyond, we are giving families the time and health they need to focus on education, farming, and economic growth.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Dokolo project aligns with DivineAid\u2019s broader strategic shift toward integrated programming, which combines safe water access with environmental restoration and livelihood support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIRA, UGANDA (2025) \u2013 In a significant step toward improving health and rural development, Divine Agency for Integrated Development (DivineAid) is proud to announce the launch of a new, three-year water initiative in Dokolo District.
